Active Inclusion Workshop

Event Description:

Leisure Networks is pleased to partner with Welcoming Australia & Geelong United Basketball in the delivery of an Active Inclusion Workshop, supported by the Change our Game initiative and the City of Greater Geelong. This event is open to all community clubs across the Barwon Region.

The workshop is an engaging, interactive session designed to empower participants with insights into their own experiences.

It features a three-step process:

  • Self-reflection

  • Building cultural understanding and;

  • Inclusion in action


Learning outcomes from the workshop include:

  • Explore personal experiences and how they impact our interactions with others.

  • Develop inclusive practice skills to create safe and welcoming community spaces.

  • Recognise the influence of knowledge, skills, attitudes, policies, and behaviours on the experience of others.

  • Acquire practical steps that can be easily implemented into club activities to welcome and include all members of the community, cultivating a strong sense of belonging for all.

  • In addition to this, the content will include tips on inclusive coaching for all-abilities sport and recreation participants.

Date - Tuesday 30 July

Time - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Location -Wurriki Nyal Civic Precinct, 137 - 149 Mercer Street, Geelong.

This workshop is perfect for club committee members, club volunteers and other interested club members.
